Re: PWM High Power LED Dimmer - Help!

Hi, while reading a bit for an experiment that involves quite a few PWMs on a µC I stumbled across the bit angle modulation http://www.picbasic.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=7393 which seems like a quite elegant and CPU friendly solution if your transistors can keep up with the higher switching frequ...

Re: Who is in the 1GHz Club?

[...] Could you publish the python script for your Display? I have a 16 x 2 display and that sounds somewhat cool to have. Sure, all credits go to Matt at http://www.raspberrypi-spy.co.uk/ though, i just messed around a bit and you can be sure anything that looks efficient is his work ;) Temperatur...

Re: Who is in the 1GHz Club?

Mine is fine in turbo mode. ... It runs around 40 degrees C at 700MHz and it hasn't seen 50 at 1000MHz. That's impressive, where do you live - the North Pole? ;-) My Pi (with a small RAM heatsink on PoP and LAN) ticks over idle at 45C (700Mhz) but easily breaches 50C when running full bore in Turbo...

<t>jbanks6424 said: <br/> <br/> <br/> I was reading in another post that the analog audio output on the Raspberry Pi is 1bit PWM, which would be low quality. Is this what you were going to feed your amplifier with? You might consider putting in a USB sound card to get a higher quality audio output.<...

Re: Possible Case Using Openbeam?

<t>I heard about openbeam a while back and thought it was quite nice, but to be honest: $45 isn't really cheap to build a RasPi case. The costs don't seem that much different from the usual industry standards, imho the only nice thing is the scale (I only worked with 45 mm profiles untill now). As i...

Re: Case Design Challenge: Media Centre

<t>So, here are some pics:<br/> <br/> <br/> <br/> Not much to say... front is acryl glas, painted black from behind. Looks really nice in RL, the picture of the speakers doesn't really show how classy it looks. The rest is MDF covered with cherry veneer. Before anyone complains about all the holes: ...

Re: Case Design Challenge: Media Centre

<t>I did design something very close to what you are looking for.<br/> <br/> It's a wooden case in the design of some speakers I built a few years ago, it will have space for an amplifier, the raspi, an external hdd and an USB hub.<br/> <br/> <br/> <br/> The Pi itself is in another wooden case that ...

Re: Found A cheap monitor

<t>I got really lucky two month ago, I found a 15" TFT (NEC LCD1570NX-2) with DVI  for just 20€ in a local newsgroup.<br/> <br/> It's just perfect, any bigger wouldn't have worked as there are already two monitors on my desk and it really fits the RasPi, small and cheap.<br/> <br/> I know it's not r...

Re: Poster / flyer

<r>Very nice idea, but to be honest: It looks very cluttered.<br/> <br/> Take the following as constructive criticism, not as a way of tearing down your work:<br/> <br/> The raspberry and the raspi are way too close, make the raspberry a little smaller, center the raspi and get rid of the "Price $35...
