Re: Driver installation impossible? RTL8812AU

MrEngman, Thanks for the driver, works a treat! Im trying to increase the speed of my AP and need to know the ht_capab and vht_capab flags enabled in the driver to put in hostapd.conf And idea where i could find them? i have seen a post somewhere that the ht ones are listed with "iw list" but the v...

Re: Moving Linux kernel to 4.19

Updated the clone of Linux source to include the new kernel source 4.18.14+ to check and update the wifi drivers I compile to run on kernel 4.18. However, I am unable to configure the kernel so I can compile the drivers as make modules_prepare fails with an error I'm having problems fixing. Initiall...

Setting up a new SD card yesterday with the latest Rasbian image, 2018-10-09-raspbian-stretch, and just got the message to replace the default raspberry password as normal.

No sign of being forced to set a new password.

Just tried clicking the link in my Magpi 74 and I end up here https://www.raspberrypi.org/downloads/r ... i-desktop/ which is probably what you want.

You will probably need to download the ISO and copy it to a CD/DVD to use it.

Any idea about what should I check? Presumably you removed the lines referencing wlan0 you added to the /etc/network/interfaces file? Then rebooted? I have no idea why you are getting the "failed to disconnect" error. There are a very few other posts referencing that error, but no explanation why i...

The post you referenced setting up wifi is out of date. Do not edit file /etc/network/interfaces. File /etc/network/interfaces should look like # interfaces(5) file used by ifup(8) and ifdown(8) # Please note that this file is written to be used with dhcpcd # For static IP, consult /etc/dhcpcd.conf ...

Re: (UPDATE) Drivers for TL-WN725N V2 - 3.6.11+ -> 4.xx.xx+

The driver itself works perfectly for me, but I have some issues with installing & updating. Of course you won't be able to download this driver on the pi itself without it having the driver (unless you connect it via ethernet, which is not an option on the A+ or an embedded system). This isn't tha...

I have been testing the driver for a while now and don't have problems connecting to my 5Ghz network using a T1U wifi and don't seem to have issues with it disconnecting and reconnecting, but then I'm only using STA mode. Hi, The mt7610 driver I compile only works in STA mode. There are other issues with the driver when used with Raspbian Stretch. You say running the update shows LC-ALL=en_GB.UTF-8 with a hyphen in LC-ALL However, the output from locale shows LC_ALL=en_GB.UTF-8 with an underscore in LC_ALL and all other values for LC_etc. May be that could be the issue. Re: Install driver of TL-WN722N Version 3 on Raspberry Pi 2

If you are using Raspbian OS you do not need to install a driver as it is included in the image.

You should just need to set up the wifi configuration correctly to get it working.

For a start your wpa_supplicant.conf file is missing some lines at the beginning. It should look more like:

Code: Select all

ctrl_interface=DIR=/var/run/wpa_supplicant GROUP=netdev
update_config=1
country=US

network={
	ssid="network-name"
	key_mgmt=NONE

Hi liquizell,

I have 8822bu drivers available compiled for Raspbian OS.

Install the script as described here viewtopic.php?t=178405#p1136676 then run the script and it should automatically determine the driver version you need and install it.

Any chance you have a driver for Stretch:
Linux raspberrypi 4.9.80+ #1098 Fri Mar 9 18:51:28 GMT 2018 armv6l GNU/Linux

TIA
Yes. Install the script as detailed in the post before yours and then run the script and it will automatically determine the driver version you need and install it.
