@MrEngman Are you planning to create driver files for the RTL8812AU on kernel 4.9.95? That would be very much appreciated!! Wifi install script now tells me: *** Raspberry Pi wifi driver installer by MrEngman. Your current kernel revision = 4.9.95+ Your current kernel build = #1 I compile drivers f...

Re: [SOLVED] wlan1 (5GHz) does not come up

As you are running the latest kernel version, especially if you are using kernel Stretch, I'm wondering why you have edited file /etc/network/interfaces . Don't I have to declare the usual "auto lo // iface lo inet loopback..." under stretch? I just used my old interfaces-file from the former versi...

MrEngman has on his webpage an sh-file that I ran. This file did everything, installing the driver as well as activating it. Unfortunately, I just realized that it is only with 2.4GHz, not 5GHz. I am sure that this is not a software issue. Hi andies, I am using the driver you are installing for you...

Speaking of install scripts, I'm using a slightly modified version of your scripts. My version, instead of checking the current kernel and looking for a matching driver, it checks for the next boot's kernel by looking at /boot/kernel.img and installs the driver for that version. That way I can upda...

Re: ASUS USB-AC53 Nano | RTL8812BU | EW-7822UNC

Does command lsmod show 88x2bu in the list of running modules. It’s listed twice. Once on it’s own and once as being used by cfg80211. So the driver sees the wifi adapter and is loading. The obvious problem with getting wifi going is whether the configuration is correct in files /etc/network/interf...

Re: ASUS USB-AC53 Nano | RTL8812BU | EW-7822UNC

Seems the driver code uses the name 88x2bu.ko for the driver module.

So use modinfo 88x2bu to show the driver details.

EDIT: the problem you are seeing may be because the driver was compiled using sudo for some of the commands which should not have been used as detailed in my previous post.
