I have had this running for years. The only difference is I pay my internet provider (Allo) for a static IP address. That makes things a bit easier.

You might want to create a small ramdisk, maybe 50-100 meg. Have raspistill save the image to there, it will reduce the writes to your SD card. I have had a webcam going for several years. Old problem with USB 3 hubs. If you plug a USB 2 hub into the USB 3 hub, then that will work. Sorry it isn't a nice solution. But the USB 1.x slow devices such as keyboards and mice somehow don't register when plugged into a USB 3 hub on a pi.

Yes it works fine.

I used it with both jessie-lite and the full jessie on a Pi Zero W. I did it from a 2016 MacBook Pro with USB-C to USB-A dongle. Make sure you edit a few files in the boot partition and also create a file named ssh in the boot directory.
