Re: Enabling Fake KMS breaks display rotation. Is there a workaround on non-desktop setups?

This is a known issue. The only way I found is to rotate my rendering image/layout inside my Qt software. With Qt Design studio, you can just add a flag that will rotate or not each element.

Re: Product-ready outdoor use display suggestions for Pi (Bright, adjustable, IPS)

Resolution is 1024x600 and screen is 1000nits (or 1000cd/m2), which is more that best smartphone. There are many smartphone out there with higher than that. The Samsung galaxy s20 for instance, has 1342 nits Okay, I correct that. Not better than best smartphone. But way more affordable, as the scre...

Re: Product-ready outdoor use display suggestions for Pi (Bright, adjustable, IPS)

Hi, I use New Haven displays for an embedded motorbike display project. They make it touch and no touch. Resolution is 1024x600 and screen is 1000nits (or 1000cd/m2), which is more that best smartphone. I bought them from Mouser. You can also find them on Digikey. Then I made a custom case for holdi...

Re: QT 4.8.7 for Raspberry PI

Hi, I used this guide for a cross-compile environment : https://wiki.qt.io/RaspberryPi2EGLFS . My main problem was to find a gcc cross-compiler that would be compatible. Rpi's default Linaro is too old. I found other toolchain here : https://github.com/abhiTronix/raspberry-pi-cross-compilers but gcc...

It seems you also have to define framerate to 1/exposuretime, and eventually change capture_timeout value

Bonjour,

Boot partition is written to when you get a kernel or firmware update.
Indeed, I forgot that case.

Re: Raspberry Pi Touch Screen instead of Monitor

Hi,

That's doable, but setting it up depends of the touchscreen you have : is it an hdmi (for video) + usb (for touch) or is it a gpio screen ?

With HDMI screen, you should see something. For the gpio one, you should edit some config file before seeing anything.

Re: /boot partition filling

Depends of what you are trying to achieve.

For example, start_x enables Pi cameras. If you don't need it, you can remove it.
But anyway, boot partition shouldn't be written to, so I don't understand why you would like to free space on it.

Re: Help me Fast Boot my pi-Zero MIDI "USB Gadget"

So I tested it tonight. Just plugged an HDMI screen and plugged it on the computer. I just had to create a usb ethernet profile, as by default my computer creates one with dhcp (as I didn't set dnsmasq on the Pi for the demo). After that step, every time I connect the Pi, usb profile is chosen and I...

Re: Help me Fast Boot my pi-Zero MIDI "USB Gadget"

Hello, Sorry, I didn't consult the forum this weekend. When you 'dd', you shouldn't need to set size of file. dd handles that all by himself. But I usually prefer etcher as it is more user-friendly and not everyone knows how to dd files. After burn, can you check the sd partitions ? one for boot, on...

Re: Help me Fast Boot my pi-Zero MIDI "USB Gadget"

I didn't dig any further, as I don't think a full Raspbian is needed in most cased : more speed means less functionality, and for embedded devices, functions are restricted by design. For example, I remove some filesystem initially compiled inside the kernel, to keep only ext4 and fat. Do OP need ot...
