Re: NEW: Darkplaces Quake engine up and running on Raspberry

Ok, got something to share. Music: Go here and download the music paks for your game(s). http://quakeone.com/forums/quake-mod-releases/finished-works/7337-high-quality-music-packs.html I have the id1, hipnotic (Scourge of Armagon) and rogue (Dissolution of Eternity) games in my ~/darkplaces/ directo...

Re: NEW: Darkplaces Quake engine up and running on Raspberry

For joystick mapping, I would start by editing config.cfg and removing all existing joystick mappings to see how the default settings work. An easy way to work out joystick mappings is to map an unrecognized command to each joystick button which will result in an error message being displayed when ...

Re: NEW: Darkplaces Quake engine up and running on Raspberry

I concur that 1080p doesn't make a huge difference in visual quality and framerates are higher at 720p. The video mode issue can be fixed by editing the ~/darkplaces/id1/config.cfg file and modifying the following parameters: "vid_width" "1280" "vid_height" "720" "vid_conwidth" "1024" the vid_heigh...

Re: NEW: Darkplaces Quake engine up and running on Raspberry

This is awesome. Been trying to get a quake that runs on the Pi for a while. Couple of things - it detects the joysick (Xbox 360 controller), and the controllers work for game play, but darkplaces completely ignores all the remapping I've done in the xboxdrv configuration. Therefore, it still requir...

Re: GLQuake-ES now available

Playing around with this a bit more, I can run glquake full screen on my machine with minimal slowdown by using the following command line: ./glquake -nomtex -nosound -width 1280 -height 720 -game id1 It's the sound that causes the game to stutter and stall at various points -- running it with no so...

Re: Time to kick *ss and chew bubble gum...

I installed eduke32 today on my RPi. My Raspbian Wheezy is fully up-to-date, so the 'fix' proposed further back in the thread for the flickering screen problem, which involves a firmware update, does not work. The game screen flickers violently when transitioning from menus to game, whenever you pic...

Re: [Tutorial] gpSP - Full Speed GBA Emulator with Sound and

I had this problem with the Xbox 360 pad. I had to add the dpad-as-button command to the rc.local file and then reconfigure gpsp. I also had to reconfigure every other emulator. It was a massive pain but worth it as now I can play advance games with the dpad as originally intended. I generally crea...

Re: [Tutorial] gpSP - Full Speed GBA Emulator with Sound and

Hi, can I use xboxdrv with this emulator? How? I've installed the xboxdrv but there is not joystick on the menu section. Thanks. Yes, here is my xboxdrv config file for this game: [xboxdrv] silent=true deadzone=4000 trigger-as-button=true led=2 dpad-as-button=true [ui-buttonmap] dl=KEY_LEFT dr=KEY_...

Re: [Tutorial] gpSP - Full Speed GBA Emulator with Sound and

Is there a way to remap USB joypad buttons? xboxdrv is the best bet. Even if you don't use an xbox controller, you can use xboxdrv to completely remap your usb stick's input for any game. It's kind of hairy trying to get reasonable information on it, but it does come with a number of example config...

Re: is sandisk extreme hd video sd card compatible?

There's a good chart of cards here: http://elinux.org/RPi_SD_cards . Scrolling way down that page you'll see some performance results. It looks like the RPi tops out around 20 MB/s speed reading from an SD card, so honestly, in my opinion, anything over Class 6 is a bit of a waste. Mind you, these d...

Re: GLQuake-ES now available

For folks having trouble with the performance of this game, try the following: cd to the id1 folder cd ~/quake/id1 create an autoexec.cfg file nano autoexec.cfg add the following line to the file and save it out: r_shadows 0 This port has r_shadows set to 1 by default. Turning them off will get you ...

Re: Openelec XBMC Resolution Issue

Did that, it is reporting that it's running at the right mode: OpenELEC:~ # tvservice -s state 0x12001a [HDMI CEA (16) RGB lim 16:9], 1920x1080 @ 60Hz, progressive Everything on the interface is quite fuzzy, and videos play fuzzy as well. I've checked the information on the monitor (it's a viewsonic...

Openelec XBMC Resolution Issue

I've started up the OpenELEC option on a freshly installed NOOBS image, and while the interface is telling me it's running at 1920 x 1080p, it isn't. It's running considerably lower than that, and looks quite low quality and blurry. If I select 1280 x 720p it looks much crisper, but of course isn't ...
