Now, there's an idea, I have a heavy case for a mini-ITX lying around, that could come in quite handy, should have room for both a harddisk and the Raspi.....

Installed and plugged in a USB-key with a bit of music, searched for clients, have no previous experience with MPD, so just went with the first suggestion in Ubuntu, QMPDClient. Had to look around a bit to get access to my own music, but 2 minutes without consulting manuals isn't too bad, I guess ;-...

Now, this is right up my alley, I may not be able to contribute a lot, but I shall certainly delve into your project and give it a test, hooking my Raspi up with my Cambridge DacMagic.

The problem with using the on-board audio out on the Pi, is that it is not very high quality. If you want to really listen to good music you need another digital-to-analogue-converter. I would like to use my Cambridge DacMagic for that purpose, it will take digital signals via usb, coaxial or optica...

Just a quick thought: Would it be possible to send gphoto commands via ssh from an android phone, hooked up on a usb-port? Then it is a matter of making an app that will fire those commands, instead of a webpage. This would of course not be wireless, but you could then skip the wifi connection on th...
