Re: 15 to 22 pin fpc connector adapter pinout?

FYI the 0.4mm PCB will fit in the FPC connector! Just received them today. Now only need to solder the other connector and see if the whole thing works. :)

Re: 15 to 22 pin fpc connector adapter pinout?

Why not simply connect them (route trace under connector)? This works even on a single layer PCB. There absolutely is no good practical reason. :D They are shielding the CSI signals and not used for carrying power supply current since the camera doesn't draw much current. I also thought they ...

15 to 22 pin fpc connector adapter pinout?

Hi, I want to create a small PCB adapter for the 22 pin fpc connector found on the Raspberry Pi zero. I read that the connector is the same as on the compute module and particularly on the Camera/Display adapter boards . From the files found there, here is the schematic of the camera adapter which d...

Re: Error while trying to run a jar that uses JSSC

OK I managed to solve it. After banging my head on the wall for one day, I just found out why this was happening. Apparently, the file /home/pi/.jssc/linux/libjSSC-2.7_armhf.so was literally too short, i.e. 0 bytes. I replaced it with this one that I got from the JSSC repo and everything works as it...

Error while trying to run a jar that uses JSSC

I built a small Java application that allows the user to relay messages from web sockets to the serial port back and forth, using the JSSC library. It works perfectly fine on my laptop (Ubuntu 14.04 LTS, java version "1.8.0_92") however, when I am extracting it through Eclipse as a runnable jar (you...

Re: RPi zero hangs during update or install

I am afraid it was crashing regardless of whether I was using the USB to LAN adapter or the Wifi dongle, both of which other than that seem to be working fine. :(

Hi What type of WiFi and USB-to-LAN adapters? The WiFi is based on the ralink rt5370 and the usb to lan adapter... hmmm I am not sure, but it looks like this . They both worked out of the box. What version of model B Pi Sorry, the first/old version. Raspberry Pi 1 Model B. Same CPU and RAM with the ...

Re: RPi zero hangs during update or install

So, I have narrowed down the fault. I first tried to sudo apt-get update or install something using another microsd card, with a (totally new and clean) Raspbian (no NOOBS) installation. Still failed the same way. When it tries to fetch something from the internet, it hangs and the system is crashed...

Re: RPi zero hangs during update or install

Error messages? Tricky to diagnose without clues. Yeah i know, i don't get any. I am not sure whether they are logged (or i can log them) somewhere. I tried dmesg but (of course) that gets renewed during a new bootup. "Disk" space? Was the card a NOOBS or plain Raspbian install? How much space is f...

RPi zero hangs during update or install

Hi, I just received my RPi zero which should be running one of the latest versions of the firmware, on the micro sd card I received with it, from a well known UK vendor. $ uname -a Linux raspberrypi 4.1.13+ #826 PREEMPT Fri Nov 13 20:13:22 GMT 2015 armv6l GNU/Linux I noticed that whenever I was tryi...

Re: MJPEG viewer in RPi?

Just so you know, i've given up on this... Streaming with vlc finally worked, but had a huge lag (>8 seconds) while the max fps was 3-4 per second and all this in the local network. Imagine what would happen if i'd try to view it remotely... Maybe, trying to implement a custom solution with a very o...

Re: MJPEG viewer in RPi?

We might be working on similar projects here. I got mjpg-streamer up and running last night on my Model B and it's pretty slow, maybe a second or so behind live and then a maximum of 15fps. It works for what it is right now I guess but if I can't find a way of speeding up the frames and the lag I'm...

MJPEG viewer in RPi?

Hi, i want to stream some images from my network camera at my RP. Re: Connecting RPi to arduino via USB to TTL cable

I was mostly worried because the Arduino's pins are 5 Volts but RPi pins are 3.3 V so RPi can get damaged. I guess that since we are not using RPi's pins directly but the USB port which as you say is 5V tolerant, we should be alright, am i correct?

Connecting RPi to arduino via USB to TTL cable

Hello there, i currently have RPi connected to an arduino through a normal usb cable in order to send and receive data through the serial port. I'm reading varying information online that's why i'd like a definite answer to this: Will i damage Raspberry Pi, if i use a usb to ttl cable (like this one...

Re: How to make raspberry pi web server publicly accessible?

I believe it's a matter of your router settings and not the RPi itself. Since i've done something similar before i can tell you the general direction you can follow: set up port forwarding (could be called differently depending on your router) Do that, by selecting an external port which the outside...

Re: Camera takes photo and then freezes everything

Please try a different USB power cable. Some of the cheap ones are really awful and even with a decent power supply can cause the voltage to drop so much the camera will stop. The camera takes at least another 200mA more than base load. wow really? apparently it was the usb cable! :? :? :? ...

Re: Camera takes photo and then freezes everything

Almost certainly the power, how good is the lead between the power supply and the Pi ?. What the label says and what gets to the Pi are often 2 entirely unrelated figures. The camera module is greedy power wise and it will often crash the Pi when it activates the camera if the power isn't 100%. Wha...

Re: Camera takes photo and then freezes everything

Try another power supply. Richard S. My power supply is a usb charger that provides an output of 2A. I don't have anything larger. Only another usb charger of 1A. I will try that but i really don't think it'll make things better. :P edit : tried that and got exactly the same results What firmware v...
