Ideally, talks should be about 30-45 minutes so that you can possibly put into practice what ever has been talked about, or allow other members to discuss other things, or just get down to the nitty drifty of playing with the pi!
Pi's are easy to transport. The big problem is monitors or tv's to plug them into. I don't know the layout of the Electron Club, but they do mention they have a lot of old/abandoned equipment. As for monitors or TV's? They do have PC's, however, so a simple demonstration could be to show you how to set up ssh, change the hostname (we don't want a few pi's all resolving to raspberry.local), and then use the provided computers to log in to the pi, and use it as if it were in front of you. As a local network, I'm pretty sure VNC shouldn't be an issue either!
IT's all ideas just now. I'd like to get a bunch together to plan some ideas, at least for the first 4 or 5 meets, and to see how feasible it would be for a monthly meet, or every 2 month meet. Im aware some people are interested that are a lot further out that Glasgow, and there could be an unexpected financial burden in travelling (However, if anyones coming from near Edinburgh, after February 13th, I fully expect Krispy Kreme donuts to be supplied!
I'm aware that both scotch.com and scotch.co.uk are both registered. Would it be worthwhile setting up a domain, just to note interest just now? Any ideas or feedback?
Thanks,
Nick
