I've compiled CorsixTH for the Raspberry Pi. Now you can play Theme Hospital on your tiny little machine!

Download it from http://mirror2.mcmyadmin.com/raspberryp ... _raspi.zip

A few notes:

  • The original Theme Hospital data is needed, either from the CD or the GOG version of the data is fine. It'll ask you for the location of the data when you start it the first time.
  • It will run without X in the framebuffer, but the foreground flickers very heavily, making it unusable.
  • It's slightly sluggish (but entirely playable) under X. The performance issues are down to the lack of accelerated X drivers at the moment.
  • Sound and music work fine.

Prerequisites:

  • Lua (lua50 package)
  • SDL and SDL_Mixer
  • Timidity (optional) for MIDI music
  • Original theme hospital data.

Enjoy!

Bit slow but does work nicely.
Can't wait for the new drivers to be finished.

I've downloaded the .zip and also have the GOG game data. But as a new user to Linux distros I'm struggling to understand what I need to type in the terminal for the prerequisites and how to run the game. Any help would be much appreciated (ie. just a step-by-step for what to type to get it to run and where the files need to be placed) :)

@lmcjt simply ./CorsixTH to launch

@Phonicuk thanks for sharing with the community. Really surprised how well its runs. I have 2 questions i need help with
1. No patients are turning up at my hospital. I copied across the HOSP file from the cd, do i need any additional files from the cd?
2. It recommends I use luajit. I have luajit installed, how do i activate it?
