Hi I did not find any info about this on the net, but might it be possible to use the Pi for an (prezi, or OpenOffice) presentation in a classroom connected to a smartboard? Secondly it would be nice if, one could use a ipod or smartphone as the pointing/ remote device for that!
Anyone here having experience with this and willing to share the "how to" and "setup"? Would be a nice feature for my Sons (10jr) school-presentation he is preparing on "Computers".
Since I can not really try this @home would be nice to have your advise on this matter. So will it be possible having the Pi for an presentation with Prezi, connected to an Digital Smart-board? Any experiences with this? And if so, how did you do that? Thanks
Doesn't a smartboard come with a integrated /addtional PC ? Seems to be not constructive to re-cable everthing.

• Don't like the board ? Missing features ? Change to the prosilver theme ! You can find it in your settings. • Don't like to search the forum BEFORE posting 'cos it's useless ? Try googling : yoursearchtermshere site:raspberrypi.org
Seems to need access to 'the Cloud' for storage. Will your Pi have internet access in the classroom? (Standalone Prezi Desktop only supported on Windows and Mac.)
LibreOffice to show either native or PowerPoint presentations might be possible.
How will you connect the Pi to the SmartBoard? Will the AV and/or IT support staff allow you to interfere with the existing connections?
Thanks for the input. I was thinking having it standalone there is internet available. Did not think about the IT staff (which is not really there) since its a very small school. So I was thinking, it might be possible have the Pi plugged into the board with a hdmi cable?
You will loose the input functions of the smartboard though (touch , special "pens" and eraser)
The browsers on the Pi are notoroiusly slow , too. Especially with JavaScript.

seems to say that the linux software requires a Pentium (ie "intel") processor. So I think you are going to be unable to control the presentation from the smartboard.
I don't think this is Airplay Mirroring you used ... just Airplay but still a ingenious solution. But this does not work with plain .ppt or .pptx , does it ?
