ZYDAS/Atheros 1211 wifi dongle problems

Hey, I am trying to use a ZYDAS/Atheros 1211 a/b/g USB Wlan adapter. The adapter shows up in IWconfig and lsusb normally, but I am unable to use it with a network configuration GUI and CLI configuration doesn't work. The adapter seems to be detecting, and seems to have power, and I don't know why it wouldn't work. Ideas, anyone?

Never mind guys, I just found a typo in the directory I made in /lib/firmware to house the adapter firmware.

Now that it works, how fast does transfer across it go?

I have one of those sticks and after a while it grinds to a halt due to memory allocation errors.
