What formats will be supported?
ie other than 1080p30 video & 5MP stills
Will 125fps or even faster be included [1]?
ie at qvga or qqvga perhaps?
kind regards
Jonathan

Actually, you can specify quite a few different stills resolutions - the GPU will scale the best fit camera mode to whatever you request. 2592x1944 is the capture resolution mode.
Frame rate is dependent on size of image, but I'm not sure what particular framerates we support out of the box as yet. Checking the driver code, it's looks like we only have a specific mode for 1080p30. It's not a huge leap to provide other mode though, but probably not at launch due to time constraints.

I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of machine vision researchers cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced.we only have a specific mode for 1080p30. It's not a huge leap to provide other mode though, but probably not at launch due to time constraints.

Jamesh,
as per EdZ's comments, can I encourage you and the team to please include some fast modes?
depending what else is possible:
960x540 120fps?
640x480 675fps?
to whet your appetite:
'Eyetracking in the browser using html5'
http://www.gnote.org
Ready, capable and available to test and provide reduced test cases.
kind regards
~:"
The Sony Eye Camera manages 125fps in a browser window,
but with the RPi only up to 20fps afaict.

You can encourage to your hearts content, but it takes time that the people who know do not have. Patience is required here.
The best I've seen out of a VC3 (older version of GPU) was 120fps. Not sure what we have got the VC4 up to. I seriously doubt 675 will be possible, but I guess we can try.

Slow Motion and Time Lapse would be great and outstanding even in view of HQ consumer cameras.
Slow motion up to 300 fps with the largest reliable format.
Time Lapse especially starting with 0.5 fps and going up at least to 10 fps.
