Flashing SD from Windows 7

Can any one help me with this procedure:- When I activate the WRITE button in "..win32-image-witer" I get the message "Write successful" after about 1second. Nothing is written to my Trancend SD. What am I doing wrong ? Any help will be greatly appreciated !!

What image are you attempting to write?

How many external drives are connected to your PC? Did you select the right drive? I ask this because flashing a USB hard drive is usually much faster than flashing an SD card with the same image.

The "Win32DiskImager.exe" is not an image file, but the tool that needs to be used to write an image file to the SD card. The image files have a file extension of .img. That is also the default file extension filter set in the browse box of Win32DiskImager. Here are some other (?) instructions:

You need to download the image creation program (which you have) and also the file which contains the disk image data as well (that will usually be around a gigabyte or more).

Many thanks for all your help. Firstly, a full format FAT32 was needed and then the information contained in "RPi Easy SD Card Setup" cleared my problems.
