LXDE keyboard layout set to US, can't set to GB
4 posts
Hi, I recently got my pi, and the input device I'm using is a Logitech K400 keyboard/touchpad combo. It a British keyboard layout, and works fine in the terminal after I use raspi-config to set it. But as soon as I start LXDE, not matter where I type it uses a US keymap. Even LXTerminal! I looked around but many say this is an unsolved problem.

Also, I'm running a fully updated version of Wheezy Debian image 2012-08-16.

The solution is here: viewtopic.php?f=66&t=18519
I know too little of the internals to tell why the users choice is completely ignored in LXDE. It must have something to do with evdev guessing what keyboard layout you have. Very, very confusing.

Full-time noob forever.

Worked perfectly! I had a bit of trouble at first, en_GB didn't work, but it's actually just gb. Thanks!
