DOSbox on Raspbian
5 posts
Hello, i have just got the 512mb model 2 and i wondered if dosbox worked better on it than the bad performance of what i believe was the 256mb (may 2012) i quote 'slower than a 286'. Now, i read that that the available RAM for applications has gone up more than 3 fold , 126mb to 384 or something. How much does this impact on the aforementioned speeds(i realise it is based of processor but i wondered if extra addresses may of helped)

The speed of DOSBox has nothing to do with memory it's slow because it's time consuming emulating the Intel 80x86 instruction set with ARMv6 equivalents.

I said earlier that i realise it makes no difference to processor speed but does it make a difference to performance

It was mentioned by me in this post that FastBOX (DOSBox) for RiscOS was a better solution than DOSBOX on Debian.
