recently my relative won an unopened version of windows 3.0(1990).
we are debating whether to sell it on Ebay or try loading it on the raspberry pi.
the specifications are:
Intel 286,386 or higher
640k conventional memory
MS-DOS or PC-DOS 3.1 or higher
I have a floppy disk drive to install it,
be interesting to see if the RPI would run it.
what do you think?
will the RPI run windows 3.0(1990)?

• Don't like the board ? Missing features ? Change to the prosilver theme ! You can find it in your settings.

Why do you ask about "Win 3.11", when the post is clearly about some other version?
Strange...

I think 3.0 was a front end for DOS wasn't it? That is, did you had to install DOS then install Windows on it?
If so I'm wondering if Free Dos would work. (Don't really know, just a suggestion.)

Every version of Windows is a "front end for DOS".

What do you mean? I am pretty sure that this hasn't been the case since windows 98.

The rpi doesn't have an Intel processor. It has an Arm processor.
It won't run Windows directly.

I think the best solution is to find a vintage IBM PC compatible at a garage sale or watch on ebay.
To run Windows 3.0 you should emulate a full IBM PC system like qemu or dosbox does, someone anyway succesfully ran Windows 95 undeq qemu in the Pi, so this is feasible.
Unfortunately what one finds for free are Pentiun IV class computers or more recent ones... real PC AT or PS/2 are a lucky find.

Windows 3.x run in DOSBox but it will seriously use the available resources of the Pi when running on Raspbian.

Maybe RiscOS for Pi and their version of DOSBox (FastBox) will be less resource hungry ?

Still do not see the point of running any Microsoft O/S-GUI, when both Risc and *Nix offer so much more..................................

Ah, but you know the old truth:
The Cray - it's a nice computer and all - but it doesn't run (Lotus) 1-2-3.
