I am looking for a 4 - 6 inch e-paper display. Alibaba.com only sells in large quantity. But where can I buy a few copies?
Are there epaper displays with a HDMI port?

Sadly, for what I've seen there is not much out the for the hobbyist in the e-ink real. Sparkfun had a kent display, but it seems to have been retired. I'll look at this Hackaday search and see if you can repurpose something: http://hackaday.com/tag/e-ink/
I'll follow this thread as I too am interested in finding a hobbyist e-ink display.

I mentioned it in another thread already, but I'd suggest using a chLCD display. Try Kent Displays for the manufacturer. I'm not sure how one would connect it to a Raspi, especially since these displays need to be fed a hex-converted image. Fast graphics are out of the question since the refresh rate is on the order of 1-2 seconds.
