DSL, Puppies and Tiny Core

Will Dam Small Linux, Tiny Core or even Puppy Linux boot and run on RPI.

Yes I know they will most likely need some tweeking due to hardware differences but I think they would be a good match.  It is my intention to try these when I get my RPI (currently August - UGH!!) Has anyone actually done this?

I heard that work is being done to port Puppy Linux to the R-PI, so I expect that to work fine, at least with the 224MB(CPU)/32MB(GPU) split.

Damn Small Linux and tiny core Linux work with an even smaller memory footprint, but I'm not sure there is an ARM (ARMv6) port for them. But if they do not exist the success of the R-PI could be the incentive to create such ports .

No (at the moment). The Raspberry Pi's processor uses ARM architecture and those operating systems you mentioned only support x86 architecture. So you would have to port the entire operating system to a different platform and maybe even using a different kernel.

(The one main hardware difference unfortunately makes it not worthwhile)
