sd cards

for all from the uk can i please reccomend the mushkin 32gb class 10 sd card currently on sale from www.aria.co.uk for £14.99.
works superb with latest debian.

We have had a lot of success with Kingston 8gb SDHC class 4 cards with not a single failure in any of several Raspberry Pis. Kingston also gives a lifetime manufacturer's warranty on the SD card.
There are quite a few sellers on eBay. For example Kingston 8gb SD card resized Debian partition to give a full 7.5gb user space at http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/110886861994

T0he Mushkin 32GB from Aria (on the supported list) does not work with any of the OpenELEC builds I have tried.

Works fine with debian6-19-04-2012 but such a pain that OpenELEC is a no go at the moment.

Anyone got any ideas on how to get this working?

Or you can buy pre-installed. I got mine from auction site and it works well because they test it beforehand

Oddly the Mushkin 32GB now does not work at all with the Rpi - regardless of distribution - still works fine in my camera and on my PC however.

very strange because my 32gb card is still ticking along fine!all i can suggest is to google for sd formatter(free sortware) and use that before trying again.also for the ebay link above,why 5 pounds more for xmbc?haha £35 quid fo a 32gb card just because its got an OS on it?cant wait till full on 1 click installers have been written so these people will have no buisness

Just remember a 32GB card takes 8 times as long to backup or write than a 4 Gb card. The foundation developers aren't using 2 & 4Gb cards because they can't afford bigger cards.

Bigger cards are more used for XBMC and the likes for storing movies etc..
Performance is bordering acceptable but it does stutter a lot sometimes

I dont think 'one click installers' will happen only because resizing partitions and such is not something one would necessarily want to happen automatically. That said I've pondered doing such an endeavor myself because I'm almost broke if people are willing to pay a buck or two extra to get someone to do all that and test it for them then that's just fine in my book. Not everyone has the skills or confidence to do things like writing an image to a sd card or resizing and moving around partitions.
