Any interest in a user group in the W Midlands? Ideally Halesowen/west side of Birmingham?
My RP is due in 4 weeks, RS says!

I would like to see one in the Hereford area!
(... and don't say "Where's that?" either!
)
I see there is one near Oxford, which is where I used to live, but it is a bit too far away now!
RS hasn't said anything to me yet, unfortunately.

Count me in if you're having a meet, I'm in Redditch, so not too far from Halesowen.

Looks like it's not a big fan base in the area? Yes, good idea to wait and let's see who else comes out of the woodwork. Thexman, you may have to temper your hopes - I think even 5 would be a good start.
Suggest the other Black Horse just beyond the under-construction Shell station on the A456 down from Junction 3 - a bit easier to find for those less familiar with the area. Or is that place too busy?

Hi folks,
First post on here so hi everyone
I am based right in the centre of Birmingham, so easy access to the motorway network, and the RS depo is not too far away either which is rather useful.
I already have my Pi, and am new to all things electronic, but no stranger to computers (IT Systems Administrator by trade for 8 years, now an IT Development Manager).
Would be good to meet up with some like minded people who can help me learn more, and hopefully i can reciprocate on the IT side of things

My pi arrived. Got it running and accessed remotely from my PC (no network point near the tv) so quite pleased. Although now it's "OK, got a slowish desktop running. Now what next..."
Second week of July sounds good - how about Thursday 12th say 7.30pm at the Black Horse?
Funny how a software person sees the pi as electronic - I'm getting used to the software side of things!

Unfortunately I can't do those dates, then I'm away for a while. Next free week is week starting 30 Aug. But I suspect no date may fit everyone!

Sorry, meant week starting 30 July. Are people free on 30 July, or 1 Aug, or 3 Aug?
