I really want to get into the RaspberryPi and think its a great educational tool. And a motivation for many people to create something rather than consume from their computing appliance.
I started a Meetup Group in San Mateo, CA hoping to attract other people with the desire to get going with the PaspberryPi. Hoping to find some members who are also willing to share their skills and knowledge with other users.
Depending on the size of the group I will find a suitable location.

Hi there!
I'm in the 94403 area and myself and a friend have been able to order a pi. Mine took just 2 weeks to get here from Farnell once they said it had shipped. My friends is still in the mail but should be coming from RS soon enough.
I joined the meetup. Cant wait!
What do you think the first meeting would be about?

Did this event happen? How many people and Pi boards showed up? There are over 40 in the SF Bay area, according to the RasTrack map:

I had previously announced that I am planning Silicon Valley Raspberry Jams at the Computer History Museum in Mountain View the afternoons of the third Saturday of each month. I'll post a separate announcement in its own thread, but, figured maybe someone is already watching this thread.

The best things in life aren't things ... but, a Raspberry Pi comes pretty darned close!
