There isn`t an Xorg driver available yet and I don`t think I will compile a player that is not in the official slackware repo. The only exception for now is Midori and its dependencies.
I need to further test the sound capabilities, I think I may have rushed in saying that is very buggy.
When I tested alsa, it sounded distorted; I think I need to tweak a little the mixer.

I'm putting up a HTTP mirror at:
www.ledow.org.uk/raspberrypi
for those who can't torrent (or might be trying to wget the image instead).
It's currently up-to-date but I would hope to mirror any new updates too. Can you give me a shout or a nudge when you change this image?

I`ve build Midori.
You can get it at: http://ns1.spit-ct.ro/raspberrypi/extra/
Make sure you install all dependencies for Midori located in extra folder.
Vala isn`t required.
As a side note... compiling webkitgtk on the Pi took 23 hours.

I've tried out the above, but it complains:
"error while loading shared libraries: libenchant.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory"

slackpkg install enchant-1.5.0
Welcome to slackware, the most awesome distribution. This is all the charm, you do all the work, you don`t need dependency checking
All the libs you need are in packages in the official repository.
I`m writing this from Midori, it works like a charm.
This is the complete list of packages:

Before getting my RPi, I had not *ever* used Slackware (IRIX and Mac OSX being my prior Unix type OS experience), so there is certainly a learning curve for me.
Thanks for your work, and guidance

Good news!
Audio in X is playing without a glitch only with MPlayer. The downside of MPlayer is that it needs a bunch of extra packages installed as dependencies, including samba. I`ll try to remove other packages to keep the install image as small as possible.
Xine crashes, xmms the same and audacious is extremely buggy in playing audio files.
I`m starting to be more and more impressed by this little wonder..called Raspberry Pi. It just works and it does its job excellent.

ArmedSlack-13.37-23.05.2012 released
Major changes:
Midori 0.4.6 is now the default browser
Firefox removed
Sound module and alsa load at boot (disable by commenting the module in /etc/rc.d/rc.modules and chmod -x /etc/rc.d/rc.alsa)
Added MPlayer
Added samba
Added bind
Added mpg123, console audio player
Added netkit-ftp
Added x11-skel (xwmconfig)
Added aumix
Added more packages for dependencies
Added en_US and en_US.utf8 locales (for the rest you need to install glibc-i18n-2.13-arm-3.tgz)
Upgraded openssl and openssl-solibs to 0.9.8x (Security fix)
Removed fluxbox
Removed alpine (nano is your friend now)
Removed even more unnecesary packages to save space
Some small /etc/inittab changes
Disabled GPM ( chmox +x /etc/rc.d/rc.gpm to enable)
Declared slackware hostname in /etc/hosts to get rid of the annoying message when starting Xfce
Default time is GMT
More under the hood small fixes and cleanup
User "root" password "raspberry"
Remember to run "pkgtool" after the first boot to personalize your system.
For a complete list of packages see:
ftp://ftp.armedslack.org/armedslack/armedslack-13.37/PACKAGES.TXT
Get it at: http://ns1.spit-ct.ro/raspberrypi/
http://www.ledow.org.uk/raspberrypi/
It`s packed .rar because it`s significantly smaller than the .zip archive.

My mirror is also updating - will be on the new version in about 2-3 minutes.
Thanks for doing this work - it really is appreciated.
What size card is this setup for?
How can you expand it to use all of a 16gb card? - Most of the references I can google ref to x86 dual boot systems.
Thanks,
-Rob

This needs to be on torrent and available from the downloads page. Otherwise your server is going to get really hammered. People are more than happy to share the load.
I`ll talk to liz, I would be honored is ArmedSlack 13.37 would be on the official download page.
I want feedback for this release and after that I`ll talk to her.

This image is for a minimum 2 GB sd card. You can use Gparted on a live usb stick or bootable cd/dvd to grow /dev/mmcblk0p2 to fill the rest of the space.
You have more info on the wiki.
ArmedSlack 13.37 up and running. Had the same problem reported by someone else, in that I had previously given the Pi a static ip address from the router. The router was not prepared to allocate an address to what it must have thought was a duplicate machine. Once I disabled that everythng was fine. Boots up quickly and Midori seems faster than with Debian. I will have to do some comparisons.
I`ve compiled Lxde packages.
Get them from : http://ns1.spit-ct.ro/raspberrypi/lxde/
It works ok! Remember to run xwmconfig to change from Xfce to Lxde.

As a pretty obvious example of someone 'just finding their way' with linux in general, and Slackware in particular, this 23/05 distro 'just works', and in very polished looking way too.
The Debian build certainly has more programming tools bundled with it, but it looks and handles in a very late '90s way.
Fedora, I never got to work fast enough or long enough to get any meaningful sense of whether it worked or not.
Arch is far too 'hair shirt' for me...
I'm almost convinced that Slackware should be one of, if not *the* default distribution for the enthusiastic beginner.
Thanks for all your work once more.

Is there anyone seeding this as I can't get any peers showing!
Please test Lxde too.
I want to know which do you prefer, Lxde or Xfce.
Lxde is simple and very fast.
Xfce is a more complete desktop environment but it`s not as fast as Lxde.
Based on your opinions, the favourite will make it as the default desktop environment in the next release.

I`ve compiled a new kernel:
- Netfilter support
- QoS support
- NTFS module is now rw and not ro only
Based on the latest sources - 6ea536e2eb

I have successfully installed and tried most, if not all of the options presented by your LXDE build.
On a day-to day usage basis, I still prefer Xfce, but I think it is VERY subjective, and not at all clear cut. Indeed I would not be all that upset if Lxde WAS the default choice.
