I`m hoping for a Hard Float Slackwarearm 14.0. I don`t see any advantages in running a SF distribution on the Pi.
Eric Hameleers , a Slackware developer, said he`s working on a HF Slackware ARM port but that was 10 months ago ..

Hello!
I followed the instructions on http://www.daves-collective.co.uk/raspi ... ling.shtml
But I used a new Slackware ARM Installer Image
Available in here
http://ponce.cc/slackware/slackwarearm- ... pi-extras/
Enjoy

Thanks to the folks that made this available!

You might find some usefulness out of this Slackware ARM on a Raspberry Pi site...

if you're looking for some up2date stuff try these
http://ponce.cc/slackware/slackwarearm- ... as-3.2.27/
this installer image should work fine (I found some time to test it)
he said that his port won't be compatible with the raspi as it's targeted to upper class CPUs

The raspi-slack-installer_11Nov12.img.gz from http://ponce.cc/slackware/slackwarearm- ... as-3.2.27/ didn't work on my rpi 256 MB
I had to use the installer from 30Nov12
After that I mounted /dev/mmcblk0p1 on /boot and run the rpi-update

on slackware you have to install slackware packages, it's discouraged to use in parallel rpi-update: installing thingies with that, you will easily lose track of what is installed and where on the system, that's what package managers are for and the reason why dave provided slackbuilds scripts to create these packages in the first place.
in the meantime I updated the stuff here (3.6.6 kernel, firmware-next and userland-next)
http://ponce.cc/slackware/slackwarearm- ... pi-extras/
and installed another unit (256Mb here too) from scratch with this installer image, raspi-slack-installer_20Nov12.img.gz

I know that the rpi-update is not the slackware way of doing things but I followed this http://rpi.fatdog.eu/?p=rpiupgrade
But I will try to do the upgrade using the packages!

I get this message after configuring NFS and start the rc.nfsd
Is this a kernel problem?
- Code: Select all
/etc/rc.d/rc.nfsd start
FATAL: Module nfsd not found

yes, because I forgot to enable the nfs server module while preparing the config: I'll rebuild one with that enabled, should be ready tomorrow
the new kernel with the nfs module is available in the same place

Why Slackware ARM don't have a section like FreeBSD?
I keep using updates from http://ponce.cc/slackware/slackwarearm-14.0
It's always new things in there!
The Slackware community don't deserve their own section?

My ideia is put in here all the links and info that is out there about Slackware ARM.
BTW: I'm starting a project. I will build a wireless router with a rpi 512 mb model B version 2.0 + 4 ports 100 mbits switch + wifi USB dongle.
My purpose is to learn about networking, iptables and etc...
