Possible to program GPIO pullup/down from shell or python?

I see the C example of programming the GPIO pins with pullup/pulldown, and I see python and shell examples of programming GPIO pins as input and output.

Is it possible to programm the GPIO pins pullup/pulldown from either python or shell? I don't see any documentation or examples of that particular function.
