Can't install Samba on Raspbian

Hello,
Today I tried to install Samba and have this

pi@raspberrypi ~ $ sudo apt-get install samba

[FAIL] Starting Samba daemons: nmbd failed!

Errors were encountered while processing:
 samba
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

This is actually second attempt. First one had the same failure. I did run update&upgrade but only after trying to install samba. So after realising this mistake i removed samba, run update&upgrade then installed samba and it failed again the same way. And /etc/samba doesn't exist after installation although samba installes

I don't its just samba you need to install, so try :

Code: Select all
sudo apt-get install samba samba-common-bin

might be file system corruption due to over clocking, try it on a fresh install. (I think texy fails to understad what apt is; not dpkg)

Unfortunately system is on HDD and few things running so I decided not to do fresh install. Better to find different solution for my task - will share files via miniDLNA, they are media files which is good. I use only 800MHz overclock. Thanks for suggestions.

Well yeah, you could be correct. I was just following the Pi wiki on installing a NAS with samba here :

Sorry, I didn't reply on your message. I did try to run both samba & samba-common-bin in one line or separately, same result :(

Start from scratch using instructions at - http://www.megaleecher.net/Adding_External_USB_Disk_Drive_Storage_On_RasPi. These worked for me twice, last time two days ago with newest official wheezy built.
