Great to see the different evolutions and directions people are taking this in.
The clear version looks way better than I imagined - I thought it would be all glue and edges. And laser cut and embossed also looks very cool!

I've just built the alphs case and it's prety good. Will certainly be building the mk1 for my other pi. The only issue I have however with the mk1 is that the label for the network LED shoud really say "100M" not "10M" as I remember seeing somewhere that it was a mistake on the borads as the ethernet is 100m not 10m.
I may have a go editing the SVG but knowing my total lack of any artistic skills I'd make a pigs ear of it.

On page three someone edited mk1 with that fix and few other tweaks and it looks good, i printed the modded one with raspberry logo and cut out raspberry and made plastic window

I've just printed the Punnet off on clear acetate plastic (which went through my printer surprisingly), so that I can protect the RPi and see all it's lovely insides and the same time. Photos to follow, as I only received the RPi last night and now need to procure a few things to start using it...

did anyone try it with 130g and 190g paper? how does it look with those?

ok, 130 is not a good idea, I guess 190 also not. Can one put 300 g / m² paper in a normal ink printer?

Use 80gsm paper and either laminate it or apply an A4 label to the back. Sticky backed plastic also offers great opportunities.

I did it with 220g/m^2, went trough the printer well. I think it would give OK results even with thinner paper

I would think it would work ok on lighter card, it just obviously won't be as strong, and perhaps a slightly looser fit.

I modded it to have a colour logo. Printed it on the thickest photo paper I have. I'm really pleased with the results.

honestly, I just made one and it's such a cheap and simple solution!
I think it should be a sticky topic in the "cases" forum! so everyone who is looking for a case will see this!!

Awesome little case! I'll be using this until my parts arrive for my case.
I figured I would share my successful case using the Punnet (Thanks E)! I used thicker paper so I wouldn't crush it while plugging and unplugging. I asked my son what I should draw on it, and he said "SPIDERMAN!". So the RasPi-derman was born.

I've got some ideas for a thicker case using a slightly thicker material, but I love how easy to build/use this design is. I've had it plugged running in my L.A.M.P since I made it (About a week ago) and it's hardly warm. It works nicely because I cut the legs of the logo to vent it.
Let me know what you guys think!

My Raspberry Pi Computer arrived Yesterday! YEA!
Here are some pics of the case:
Great Case,
As you can see, the case was modded to make it just a bit shorter, so the board fits snug, I had to move the Audio, Video, and the HMDI openings, then I added a picture of (what else?) Raspberrys... to the top.

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for all your brilliant work on this. Will be looking at it and trying it out later!!!

Looks excellent, have my grand-daughter's birthday today, but will attempt later. You should see if a cereal company would include it on the packet, like they did when I was a child.

My Pi only arrived today, but just took a second look at the Element14 box it came in. If it was made a little snugger and with perforated knockouts, then it would serve as a case. It's a bit big right now.
Best wishes, Stephen
Got my pi and have been working on a case like this too
I've got a few ideas for decorating it too
Just been a mission to find the right card...

Going to try some heavy photo paper so that some images can be printed directly.
Best wishes, Stephen
My Pi was dispatched today so after relocating some card from work (dunno what thickness) i've loaded the pdf in photoshop and slightly customised a punnet for myself.
The first thing you'll notice is the nice large emblem on the lid, my plan is on my final case to cut the inerds of 3 of the football stripes out for aiding airflow.
The main thing i wanted to do differently tho was not to glue the lid down as per instructions so i've easy access if needs be to the Pi. So i simply cut the flap from above the RCA Video hole off along the score lines instead, then i squared off the flaps on either side to give the lids flap something to slot into.
The only other thing i found needed adjusting then was that the lids flap slightly overhung the RCA Video hole so i had to cut a semicircle out of that too.
For the price tho it'll do the job just as good as any other case as once its setup i'll hopefully have the plug in a switched socket for powering on/off so will only need access to the SD card.
Cheers E.

Hi there E,
I have a problem with your SVG version. When I open it in Inkscape, the page is defined smaller than A4 (16.19 x 23.30 cm) and when I try to print directly from Inkscape I only get the left side for the USB and ethernet ports. If I save to a PDF and print from there (using the actual size with latest Adobe Reader), the two 5 cm strips are actually 4 cm width.
How can I mod your great Punnet correctly? I've ordered my RPi yesterday and I'd like to have the case ready for it when it arrives (RS estimation: 10 weeks

Nice! I like the orange color and the feet have a professional touch! How did you mod yours? From the SVG or the PDF? If from SVG, with Inkscape or another app?
