Cases for the Raspberry Pi

Hi guys, new RPi user here, I'm going to buy a Raspberry Pi these Christmas. I'm currently googling all the necessary peripherals and I found heatsinks like this one: http://www.etsy.com/listing/109881624/r ... atsink-set
I know the RPi doesn't need a heatsink, but I don't want it to be hot

Can you tell me which cases gives you space for heatsinks located on the CPU, the USB/Ethernet Chip and the voltage regulators? From what I have seen, cases like the Pilow only have space for a single heatsink on the CPU.

What about using this case? It is slightly larger than an Altoids tin so might work.

The Raspberry Pi fits in the Altoids mint tin, the FAQ is wrong (at least for the Chinese model B I just received via element14). You have to drill holes for the connectors and SD card anyway, just use your same mad Dremel skills on the corner where you’re placing the ethernet port. I placed a gift card underneath the Pi for insulation — works great.

here's my case, in a Famicom game case
(Ring King - Family Boxing - ファミリーボクシング - 1987 Namco).
It's currently running a webserver (Apache / PHP 5.3 / MySQL)

A homemade case for the low cost ($35) computer Raspberry Pi model B. Video:

The box is made from a DVD+RW 10 pack spindle with cutouts for the connecting cables: USB-power, composite video, speaker, USB to PS/2 converter (active), LAN, HDMI. How to make the enclosure: 1. saw off the axis, 2. insert all the cables into the Pi, 3. put the Pi on the bottom, 4. put over the top, 5. rotate the top to avoid needing to cut through the locks, 6. mark where the cables are on the top with a CD+DVD permanent marker pen, 7. cut using scissors, 8. bend up the plastic or to the side, 9. put on the top and lock down the top by rotating the bottom.

(I normally don't connect the composite video cable and the network cable since I use HDMI and WiFi, respectively.)

I was up until super-early morning the day these originally went on sale, and was going to order one, but all the severs were crashing from the demand. Tried the next day, same deal.

Got frustrated and kinda forgot about the Pi for a while.

Well, I saw the sticker about a month ago (I made a bunch, including the top sticker) and ordered a raspi from Newark, and now finally have one.

Problem? The Pi is a bit too tall, and the SD card juts waaaay out of it. So... I think I'll be designing a 3D-printed case in the near future. A buddy of mine has one, and I am learning SketchUp right now to design a taller Atari 2600 cartridge that will have mounting screw holes that match the Pi, and the cutouts around the cartridge will be made to look like Atari would have made them, if the connector holes were supposed to be there. It'll take some doing, but I will eventually have my goal. I may even enlongate the cartridge juuuust a little, to better protect the SD card / help support it / still have it easy to remove.

Don't hold your breath.

BTW, if anyone else is interested in the labels I made (to fit an orig 2600 cart) I'll let the extras go pretty cheap - even better, if you can think of a cool little trade I might be interested in.
