Just looked at the MagPI magazine, looks great for newbies, a nice mix of computer history and practical tips, well done to everyone involved.

(According to Farnell my Pi is due in about a month.... can't wait!)


Arguing with an engineer is like wrestling with a pig in mud ..... after a while you realise that the pig likes it!

I only skimmed the magazine through. Based on that I'd confirm what you just said.

Heavy magazine format with lots of pictures.

It has over 20000 views on ISSUU, no idea how many PDF downloads.

Not bad for the first week.

One thing though, I couldn't get it to display properly in Chrome, Firefox worked ok. (Both had flash installed)

I am also using Google Chrome, and haven't noticed any problems,

Mind you, I do tend to download it as a PDF file first and then read it 'off-line'.

It's at about 14,000 downloads at the moment.  Imagine my thoughts - 'Hmm I've never had a go at making a magazine before' - next thing its 'oh 100 views... 200.. 600... 1000... 2000.... 6000.... 9000... 11000... 20000' - yowzers!

Now I feel quite a lot of responsibility to make sure the second issue gets made, or I'll have 34,000+ irate people after me.  No pressure!

It"s fantastic! I just submitted an article but Well done to the whole magpi team for all the hard work and making the first issue so good. :-D

I love it - but whoever decribed the programming languages did confuse Java and JavaScript... classy mistake xD
