Torrent Box with WebGUI

Hi Guys,
Basically I'm off to Uni, and I won't be able to torrent my linux distro's whilst I'm in uni. So I want to connect over to my Pi at home and let it download my linux distro and then transfer it to my pc in Uni.
Also, I would like it to have a GUI if possible, would just be so much easier for me.

Transmission or Deluge would cover the downloading with a webui. You could use an FTP running on the PI to get the files to you uni computer (just google "FTP install" and your choosen distro)

Hey Targettio, thanks for the quick reply, will have a read into it or do a virtual machine and play around with it that way.

Been thinking, what could I use for remote desktop to connect to the RPi from a Mac?

Run an SSH server on the Pi. That way you can log in and control the system through commnad line.

Not sure what clients are available for mac, but I am sure they are out there.

Why not forget downloading your linux distro's from torrent's and just find HTTP mirrors as this would save alot of messing around IMO

But then I won't have fun messing around with th Raspberry Pi.

I'm a linux noobie and I have a daily Google alert for the key words: raspberry, pi, and server. About a week ago I saw this blog post:
