XBMC .debs and packaging instructions

A while ago I started a packaging suite for XBMC hosted here : https://github.com/Diaoul/xbmc-rbp-packaging
Instructions are in the README if you want to compile it by yourself on your RPi

What's in:

• PVR Addons
• CEC support
• NFS support

it seems that this is just what I was looking for.
I have been playing around with my Raspi and now have it running 24*7 with a number of services (CUPS, lightttpd, calibre etc) on it, which only use tiny fractions of CPU. So, the server could do much more
The other XBMC distributions come with an already setup system, which would mean for me that I had to set up all my servers again from scratch - which I would like to avoid.

I'll give your pack a try. Thank you for this contribution to the Raspi community !

Ok, I got your debs installed but seeing some strange behaviour. If it's set to 1080p I can only see the top left quarter of it, I've checked the settings, it's running 1080p and my monitor says 1080p so I don't know what's going on.

Nevermind, I got it to work correctly by removing the .xbmc folder from my home dir, left over from my previous install.

The real thing bothering me now is that I have tried several different builds and they all idle at ~94%-98% CPU. It's driving me crazy. I used to have a build that idled at ~15%-20% CPU and I could live with that.

I've turned off the RSS feed, no change, and I've tried the dirty region thing, again, no change. I'm out of ideas.

The other real issue I see is that these builds fail to play a lot of videos I previously had running fine on an older install of Raspbian/XBMC on my old RPi (256M) before I sent it back. I just get my console (tty) back, and when I move the mouse I get the OSD over the top of my console, but no actual video.

Feel free to improve the packaging suite if you find some options that could improve performances.

I got it built myself, using the same (or as close as I can remember) config I used before, but I just get a segfault when I try to start it.

I'd be very interested in trying your current build if you say it's working, so I can figure out if it's my environment rather than the build of XBMC.
