Would it be worth adding a 'Linux Kernel' page under OS / Distributions ?

Yes, then someone will come along and explain to me what GNU means in the "An ARM GNU/Linux box for $25. Take a byte!" without me having to ask and look like a compleat twat.
And also how the kernels in the various distributions vary, ditto.

For this, just take a look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GNU/Linux_naming_controversy. In short - it's because operating system is not only a kernel but also userspace tools. And a lot of them (especially low level like whole compiling toolchain) come from GNU project.
