Operating System needs to displayed

I try to be as helpful as possible (debatable) but I find it hard having to keep asking Posters to state the Operating System installed.

Maybe it is feasible to have a field when posting a New Topic the Operating System has to be stated ?

It is awkward when recommending software which is not in repositories !
