Epic!! could this run on a Pi? i used to watch this for hours, and i would do that again... ;)

Sourcecode is free these day's, but no coding knowlidge or a Pi (RS lets me wait a little)

Demos like that are almost always written in assembly language (in this case x86), making it impossible* to port to a different CPU architecture, such as ARM used by the Raspberry Pi.

*until proven otherwise ;)

Youtube comments suggests it works on a 286, so you could probably run it on an emulator on the Pi

I found a linux port. i downloaded the file, and the "readme" tells me i just have to "makefile" this sourcecode.... Help !? :shock:

It would be great if a linux guru could tel me step by step how to compile this sourcecode, it would be the first time compiling stuff for me... It needs SDL libs installed, would that work on the Pi allso?

Sorry Ed. When compiled it is almost certainly going to compile for an INTEL/AMD/X86 processor.

Guys..... Instead of discussing things you don't know enough about, you could of course just try it. I did.

It compiles out-of-the-box (after installing SDL-dev and SDL_sound-dev) on my amd64 box. Runs great.

It compiles out-of-the-box (after installing, ... you know the drill) on my raspberry pi.

The screen I have here is only 320x200 and the video output is quite crappy. I expect it to be a lot better on something not-composite-video and on something with proper resolution.

I didn't test the audio output, as I don't have any audio devices installed on this 'pi.

[update] I have a headphone nearby. I tested the audio. It works...

I can also confirm that it compiles and runs quite well (with sound) on the RPi.
