No Boot Pi (solved)

Anybody help here?
Waited for my Pi to arrive.
Eventually it arrived 3 months late!
Prepared boot image on 4 Gb SD card plugged this in.
Plugged 5V 1A power supply in .
Red light shows on the Pi but no output from HDMI to TV/Monitor.
Didn't plug keyboard and mouse in but surely this shouldn't affect it?

If you have a digital meter then check the voltage at TP1/TP2, what readings are you getting??

What power supply are you using (i..e brand)??

What lights do you see on the Pi if you power it? Does the green one start flashing?
If not, do you see the boot partition with the boot files when you insert the SD card in a pc with a windows OS?
Check the Elinux troubleshooting section about possible tweaks in the config.txt file related to video output.

what display ?
is the hdmi plugged in before the power

Using LG power supply 5 Volt 1 amp.
Where are TP1 & 2 and which point is used for ground/return?
Only light showing is a red led no flashing green led showing booting.

Can you access the SD card in a PC ?. On a Windows box you can see one small partition with a few files in it :

On a Linux box, you can see both partitions.

No green light at all generally means its falling at the first hurdle - it can't find it's firmware on the small boot partition - the one you can see in Windows.

TP1 is quite near the the power connector. TP2 is between the GPIO pins and the composite video socket (Yellow on mine, ) They are both marked. I can't remember which is which (+/-) but it won't do any harm if all you're connecting is a voltmeter. Most digital meters will read a minus voltage if connected the wrong way round.

I checked the SD card and the boot image was corrupt
Re did the image and hey it fires up fine.
Did notice that the micro SD card adapter took some seating in my laptop slot think that's why it was corrupted.
Now lets program this thing, gotta wait till half-time in footy though
