Should be a great afternoon. I've got my tickets, all I need now is my Camera and USB stick.

1. Camera to snap peoples awesome ideas
2. USB to steal any workable code......

This is the day before my birthday, so I'll see if I can get a hold of some - sounds like an ideal way to spend my almost-16th :lol:

If you are planning to come by rail, it is a very pretty walk from the railway station of about an hour, but it can be broken with lunch at one of the many cafes in the city centre. Cambridge is also England's cycling capital so please hire a bike:http://www.stationcycles.co.uk/ or use a taxi which will take about 10 to 15 minutes.

The Uni4 bus (seriously; that's its name) will also take you from Brooklands Avenue (about ten mins walk from) the station to JJ Thompson Avenue.

Perhaps if a lot of you are coming, it might be worth meeting up at the station and sharing a taxi?

Liz, Uni4 doesn't run on Saturdays. For those taking buses from the railway station, you want a bus to the centre of town (of which there are many, the stop's outside the front door of the station), then a Citi 4 or a red Madingley Road Park and Ride bus (the P&R is about 10 mins walk from the Computer Lab). Best ticket to get is a Dayrider (£3.70) which will work all day. I'd budget about 45 mins.

It's also worth saying that if you're driving, park in Madingley Rd Park and Ride (free) and walk from there - there's very little parking at the Computer Lab.

Everybody,

More tickets were released over the weekend and more should be released over the next week or two. A week before the event Alan and I will go through those people who are presenting AND have a ticket and release those tickets to others to ensure that there are no duplicates. (Gert, myself and a few others were in this position.)

I appreciate everybody's patience, we've been working hard to make this event as good as possible for everybody.

We also NOW have an official Email for the event: raspberryjamcam@gmail.com I'd appreciate it if you could send all emails regarding the event to me on the new email...

Please do not be disheartened. I've had confirmation today that we've got the biggest venue that the lab has to offer,so more tickets will be released next week.

More announcements about the Raspberry Jam in Cambridge will be made next week. However the list of presenters is staggering already...Put it this way, if the presenters in the room don't know the answer then NOBODY does...

Got off the waiting list last night - got a ticket! Just got to work out how to get there now seeing as Cambridge is the most car-unfriendly city in all of England.... :roll:

Probably, although the A14 goes past some other places as well.

Good news: It is near the M11.
Bad new: 66% of the people have to us the A14 to get to the M11.
Good news: there is an exit from the M11 to the lab.
Bad news: You can use that exit only if you come from the south and 66% of the visitors come from the north.
Good news: There is a big parking lot near.
Bad news: You have to walk more then 30 meters in daylight from the car park to get to the lab.

Anybody else have more?

I doubt there'll be a local Raspberry Jam over here in midlands of Ireland so Cambridge it is!

I have just been looking at the various ways of going there by public transport, and the X5 Stagecoach (bus) from Milton Keynes looks like quite a good, and cheap, option.

Do any 'locals' know of any downsides to this?

I would actually be getting to Milton Keynes by train, so it should be quite a fun journey!

P.S. I am also looking forward to meeting all the famous people who have said that they will be attending!
