Does price goes down? http://uk.farnell.com/raspberr.....dp/2081347 Even if this price (14.16 GBP) is VAT excluded, it is cheaper then current model A board. Could someone could confirm that price?

I think this has already been mentioned elsewhere in the forum and is some form of mistake, notice that it says "ChipSet", not the board.
Sure does add to the confusion though.

I wasn't sure if I should put this here or not, as it's only semi-related to the Raspberry Pi, but after a few E-mails and messages from people asking me about media center stuff with the Raspi and possibly windows, as well as after seeing some peoples opinions about a possible backlash from people who may over-estimate the abilities of the Raspberry Pi, I did a quick Vlog about the best alternative I see for the people that might jump in feet first and find they can't swim
If anyone finds it doesn't smack of enough Raspberries, let me know and I'll delete my post, or any admin can feel free to pull it....I understand

I think somebody abbreviated the article and oversimplified the text in the process. It's not quite correct but you can see how they got there.
The first 10K are already manufactured but have not actually arrived in warehouses yet - so it depends on your definition of "preorder". Everything *after* that initial 10K batch *is* a preorder and is being manufactured to meet demand.
"The 10,000 that were sold were pre-ordered – they are now being manufactured in Taiwan and China to meet customer demand, with the first units expected to arrive in the next few weeks."

All About The Raspberry Pi Computer
EFYTimes said:
The Raspberry Pi is, simply put, an ultra-cheap complete computer that can run Linux, Fedora and Arch Linux. It was developed in the UK by the Raspberry Pi Foundation to get the youth of today to try their hand at engineering, bringing back reminiscences of the BBC Microcomputer system which was also designed with similar objectives in mind.
Fairly thorough overview of the project and comparison with Arduino platform.

What the Raspberry Pi Means for ARM and Open Source Computing
Mar. 6th, 2012 by Christopher Tozzi
The latest ARM product to hit the market, the Raspberry Pi mini-computer, might be proof that there is something to the supposed ARM revolution after all — particularly for the open source channel. Here’s why.
Fighting for a Piece of Raspberry Pi
Mar. 2nd 2012 by Trefis Team
The Raspberry Pi Foundation is attempting to lay the groundwork for a new, better prepared generation of young computer programmers. That's why it decided to use the free Linux operating system, an open source platform that's more tailored to would-be programmers.
Raspberry Pi - a rapturous reception

What's not to like about the Raspberry Pi? The bargain basement credit card-sized computer went on sale this morning with a tremendous amount of goodwill behind its mission to give the next generation the computing skills that Britain needs.

I'm not really able to collate *all* the press we're getting in one place any more; there's just too much. Here are a few samples from the last 24 hours that I particularly enjoyed.

I actually hurt myself when I facepalmed after reading that question. It was loud, too. Though now that I think of it, it might actually be a troll question, no?
It might be a good idea to rework the FAQ page, so that the first question reads "Can I run X application on the Raspberry Pi?", and the answer is somewhere around the lines of "If it only runs on Windows (like most games), no. The Raspberry Pi cannot run Windows or WINE, and therefore any Windows-only software will not run on it. If it runs on Linux, it might run if the application was compiled to run on ARM CPUs: check with the developers to know if it will run on the Pi."
I'll make sure I'll refer people to the FAQ page when I see questions about the Pi, like I have been doing in the past.
Interesting to see just how much media coverage the Pi has been having since the launch. I'm guessing as soon as the first batch starts reaching the hands of users/reviewers it will probably explode. Nice!
By the way, does anyone have an "I liked Raspberry Pi before it was cool" logo?
Cheers.
Miguel

Hmm, that's actually true, but while we "old timers" (a.k.a. geeks who have followed the Pi since it was announced) always thought the Pi was a very sweet piece of technology, most people will only call it "cool" when it hits consumer hands.
So I still think we deserve the logo
Also, the stand on that article you mentioned is very interesting. Displaying it like that seems awesome (and practical, too!)

The LXF article was briefly mentioned a couple of pages ago, but since it's now out, the front cover boldly states:
Do you get the impression they like it?
Inside it's given a prominent mention in the editor's letter and a 7 page spread.
Oh, I got 18/20 on the quiz (got 9 and 11 wrong - automatically assumed the binary sequence was a number, can't remember two's complement)
Introducing the incredible...
Raspberry Pi
It's a complete Linux PC >> It costs $25 >> It's going to rule the world

You guys have such a great imagination... hipsters... haha... before alpha... lol
So cool.
As for that last news bit, either something passed me by or someone forgot to mention "networked HTPC" as a potential usage scenario, which is also in great demand...
Also, does the SD card stick out that much when installed? I thought it would be more of a slight "bump", not ~1cm extra...
