Just wanted to point out that Nokia 701 is using the same Broadcom GPU: VideoCore IV but comes with dedicated graphics memory (128MB, LPDDR2 as far as I can tell).
Thought might of interest to people here.
Nokia 701 has a similar Broadcom GPU

Also, the 600 and 700 use the same GPU. No HDMI out on those, but the Nokia N8 uses the Videocore 3, the previous version and does have HDMI.

Thanks James! Interestingly, Nokia only lists 720p decoding on the 701/700/603.
I wonder if thats just Nokia not paying attention or maybe some licensing costs etc.

Nokia works in mysterious ways
The IVE3 hw in the N8 only had 32MB GPU memory. It caused a lot of problems…
HDMI ports require licenses which make phones more expensive to make (Bill Of Manufacture) plus I *believe* there's audio software that needs to be licensed from Dolby. As for no 1080p... the varying levels of write performance of SD cards from different manufacturers could mean they became a bottleneck that leads to choppy recorded video. It becomes worse once the card gets anyway fragmented too. They took the opinion that if you couldn't record 1080p then you wouldn't want to play it back. That's one of the excuses anyway...
