I've noticed that many people have been having this issue, but I can't seem to find an answer. I tried installing a package called libgles2-mesa for OpenGL work, but I get these errors...

Code: Select all
root@raspberrypi:~# apt-get install libgles2-mesa
Reading package lists... Done

The following NEW packages will be installed:

I've been dealing with this for a while now, and it would be great to figure out what is going on.

Is plymouth installed by default? It may not have installed properly.

I'm not sure if it's a default package or not, but I don't remember installing it on there. How would I reinstall or remove it without formatting my SD card?

Plymouth is a package like any other. You should be able to remove it with apt-get or aptitude (or synaptic, or...)
