RPi will not complete boot

Once the Rpi is powered, it goes through its normal boot sequence. Theere is one warning message letting me know that the root filesystem has insufficient space. The screen then goes black with a flashing cursor in the top left corner. I can type, but nothing happens with the commands.

RPi booted fine this morning, but has not since downloading and installing libreoffice and trying to reboot.

Any ideas.

When you first booted Raspian wheezy did raspi-config run and did you use it to expand the filesystem to use all the space on the SD?

I don't think so.

The first time it booted, I played in the configiration a little to make sure i had the right keyboard and such. I didn't set anything else up though.

Rewrite the SD card and ensure the filesystem is expanded before trying to install any other software.
