I came across this, sounds promising to build zwave based cheap system !

I have been eyeing this the moment I heard about it as well... I'm trying to figure it all out, but it looks like perhaps it will work with Z-way: http://en.z-wave.me/content/what-z-way

I found this which is about half the price.

It would need an adaptor (just some wires) to hook it up to the GPIO
