Hi,
I've got this idea about playing steam games on a tv by using a pi
to send xbox-controller (the one with a usb cable) information to my pc, and my pc the images and
sound from the games to the pi using a wifi adapter.
My pc is upstairs and so I don't have the possibility of connecting it to my tv which is downstairs.
My question is if there already is such a software, or it is at least possible to do this on any of the avaliable os.
Thanks in advance.

Nope, any Remote Desktop protocol invented sucks for gaming.
Horribly. Except the things Gaikai and OnLive use , but i believe
people tend to differ about that one too.
Dedicated Harware is key. AFAIK elgato presented a device
at the IFA 2012 which could do something like that. Target price
over 100€ if my memory is correct.
You will have to spend as much to get anything usable IMHO.

EDIT : The thing elgato presented can't stream , it seems.
