Hi guys,

if possible set the etc/inittab for fast boot in Raspbian?

I have tried this information:
http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=53&t=7884

but don't work..this is the error message:

(none) login: pi (automatic login)
unable to determine your tty name
INIT: id "c1" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes

Is possible boot with 10-15 sec in Raspbian??

Bye!

yes sort of .. depends YMMV

in inititab
change
1:2345:respawn:/sbin/getty --noclear 38400 tty1

to
1:2345:respawn:/bin/login -f pi tty1 </dev/tty1 >/dev/tty1 2>&1

this will auto log you into terminal 1

now as for speeding things up -
you could disable some of the stuff that starts up when you boot - or just boot to single user mode

how fast and why

Hi RaTTuS,

thanks for your reply..

I have use:
1:2345:respawn:/bin/login -f pi tty1 </dev/tty1 >/dev/tty1 2>&1

and it's ok.. but don't autologin into LXDE..

for solving this problem, i have:

1. sudo nano /etc/inittab
change
1:2345:respawn:/sbin/getty --noclear 38400 tty1
to
1:2345:respawn:/bin/login -f root tty1 </dev/tty1 >/dev/tty1 2>&1

2. sudo nano /etc/profile
in the bottom i have add-> startx

3. sudo passwd root
i have change my root password...

At the moment the boot with autologin (user->root) work... but the LXDE start is very very slow.. it's 120-150 sec !!!!

bye

LXDE start just is very slow (slow'ish CPU, usually high resolutions, non-accelerated X, ...) ...not sure that mine takes over 2 minutes though, but I don't use it that much (no icons on the desktop etc.).
