Nobody HAS to buy a Raspberry Pi from Ebay, at an inflated price.

So if they are so childish they have to have their new toy instantly, and cannot wait a little while, then they deserve to be ripped off.

The profit motive is strong. Sadly, I'm part of the problem. If someone (me) is willing to pay four times list just to get one to work/play with.

Granted, a hundred bucks is a stiff premium, but I don't regret it for a second. The RPi is a really nifty platform. I've already got (one of) mine doing some interesting work (different thread).

Capitalism doesn't pretend to be something it's not. It doesn't pretend to be "caring". Only fair. Socialist, OTOH, pretend to be "caring" but all they really care about is getting part of the supposed "free ride".
