picture Frame

im not sureif this has been done but i have a spare 19inch monitor i would like to turn into a digital photoframe

is the any software to do this

Easy but what kind of monitor is it?

If it's VGA conecting to a RPi becomes your issue

the monitor has a DVI and vga
i was going to us a DVI to HDMi

HDMI to DVI cables work fine.

Quick and dirty solution...

Enable a screensaver and configure it to rotate through a slideshow of your pictures.

Then just walk away and wait for the screensaver to start.
