I've noticed via the Raspberry Pi Map project that there are at least a dozen of us around Atlanta. Would any of you from the area be interested in starting a RPUG? Please note I'm not electing myself as a group leader or founder, I just wonder if anyone would be interested in starting one. I would definitely contribute any way I can.

I'm a second year at Tech. Thinking about getting one, Hasn't had much exposure/experience to that type of stuff at all, but ready to delve in ! Surely I will need tons of help from the community !

I have a couple of the original RPi's and a some minor successes with projects. I'd certainly be interested in a user's group.

Thanks

I'm in Atlanta and have just recently received a Pi as a gift...I had only just got started messing around with an Arduino. I've got the RPi up and running, but I find myself somewhere in between...I'm working through some Arduino projects that turn lights on and off and such, but I'm not really up for the challenge of creating a Media Center yet. I'm out of town right now, but will be back in the ATL in the Spring and would love to participate in a space or group.

Add me the Atlanta area list. My office is in Buford, we have a small conference room (up to 8 people with rearranging) that would be available for use.

Two of us here are new to the Raspberry Pi, but we code .net for a living.

Hi All! Looks like we should settle this meeting thing... I work for IHG and would arrange a meeting location if we can get together while I'm in town. (I'm usually there 1 week per month.) Our US headquarters is in the Ravinia complex (3 Ravinia Drive, Atlanta), our data center is in Alpharetta, and I usually stay at Staybridge Suites or Crowne Plaza / Dunwoody. I could arrange meeting space between something like 5-7 PM in any of those locations or could meet informally at Eclipse di Luna. My next trip will probably be the 2nd week of July. Let me know!

What do we want to do when we get together? Socialize? Show and Tell? field trip? Speaker?

Well this topic has been asleep for a little while.

Is anyone still interested in gathering somewhere around Atlanta?

Why don't we think about doing a preliminary meeting of some kind near Lennox Mall or something... No pressure, no commitment, just meet, talk, and see what happens.

Lennox seems reasonable.
I just remembered seeing this from Ben Nuttall http://www.meetup.com/Geekspace-Gwinnet ... 200720272/

I'm in Forsyth Co about 40 mi north of Atlanta. I'm interested, but, for obvious reasons, north side stuff is best for me. I went to that geekspace gwinnett meeting. It was good, but it's an hour drive for me. Every hour I drive my car away from the house and back costs me $ 26. So, it adds up. But, I just thought I'd throw my name in the hat.

Sincerely,

Ron
(PS - If you email me and don't get a quick response, you might want to send again after a couple of weeks. I get about 300 emails per day from alternate energy mailing lists and such. I don't always see new email messages quickly.)
