My PI freezes in a randome time.
I've testes several SD Cards, another DC Power (ipad charger, mobile Charger 1,2A, 3s Lipo Battery with 5V step down) - Same result. Any ideas?

If it freezes there is no change to type in demsg, but here is the "normal" output:

you can use

watch "dmesg | tail -n 45"

to get the output just before it fails.

I see you have an USB to serial adapter connected. Remove it for a while and search the forum. There are issues reported where eth0 disappears when an FTDI adapter is connected.
In fact your pi doesn't freeze, it is still running but eth0 is no longer there.

I don't have any other info to provide on this towards a solution but I have the exact same issue with mine. I have been using SSH and have also used the FTDI cable and terminal access. If it sits (seemingly) without access/interaction it always seems to lock up. This is an unmoded, out of the box model without any additional HW.

I was pretty excited about these until this started happening. I am hoping that it is not typical and that I can rely on this 24/7 if I can find a solution.

Using the same SD card?
Soon to be unemployed software engineer currently specialising in camera drivers and frameworks, but can put mind to most embedded tasks. Got a job in N.Cambridge or surroundings? I'm interested!

Power supply from Adafruit (very reliable as most of us know). I can communicate with the unit for hours while working on scripts with no problems. I leave it unattended for a while, it locks up. I can substitute in my second board to see if the problem remains. I can do the same with the SD card as well.

I would suspect that if this was a wide-spread problem if would have lot more visibility by now, so it must be specific to the hw of just a few of us.
