i have just posted this over on the stm labs forum, thought I would share here too:

Over the past couple of weeks I have been working on a Dual-Boot image of Raspbmc & Raspbian, its not everyones cup of tea, but I know a few peeps requested something like this....

Both distro's are tested working with this (8188cu chipset) dongle from this seller:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/390420390335? ... 1439.l2649

I would say this is not for the beginner due to added complexity of the config.txt edits, but if you READ the readme's it should be quite simple what is expected....

I have written a special setup-config (well modified the raspi-config for this image) that should make the initial setup a breeze...

All I can say is don't re-install raspi-config or rpi-update as both may break the build :)

Its just shy of an 830mb download (I tried a 2GB card and there was no way, pitty they don't make 3GB cards) so it will require a MINIMUM 4GB card, although I do recommend atleast an 8GB card, Raspbmc is the outer distro of the image so the RFS is fully expandable....

Anyway enough talk, here's the DL link:

RC4/Raspbian.img

Many thanks to user: Dilligaf for his input and testing of this image!

Enjoy!

For ease of downloading, I've repackaged the .img file and included some instructions on how to use it in the attached torrent. This will take some time to get going until I am no longer the only seed.

There are no seeds (nor clients) right now. I cannot seed because I have a different image downloaded. If anyone is interested in "RaspbmcRC4+Raspbian-Dual-Boot-updates_disabled.rar" instead of SDJMcHattie's, just tell me.

I will be around here for a bit, trying to help and waiting for any seeder to connect ;)

Ok, so as soon as I get back home (I'm at work now) I'll start seeding a new torrent ;)

Is there any way to update to the latest release of RaspBMC when using this?
I tried earlier today, but couldn't boot after the update :(

Thanks for creating this though, it's pretty good ;)

Grabbed the torrent but not too quick (20KB down). I'll make sure to leave it seeding once I have it.

Thanks!

Still trying to d/l the dual torrent =/

I have copied the torrent from my laptop to my server so that it will remain accessible as a seed once completed.

Sorry! I hadn't realised my torrent wasn't running. I have it back up now and I believe Franfurilo now has a full seed if anyone else tries to download

Thanks McH! I'm about to try it out now. I've made sure to force it to seed continuously for others.

Any chance of the original MD5 hash?

but i have a couple of questions

1. why on raspbain is the pi automaticly overclocked to 700mhz without the option to return it to normal

2. why does my raspbmc keep freezing when being used for more than 5 mins
