Just seen this in ArsTechnica:
http://arstechnica.com/business/2012/10/pi-crust-breakout-board-makes-it-easy-to-get-peripherals-on-raspberry-pi/

which directs you to:

This Pi Crust is a breakout board and not to be confused with the Pi Crust covered elsewhere which is a case.

Shouldn't be long before this design gets made and sold, though evidently you can make one up from the design.

Am I missing something or is this just rerouting pins to new headers?

from what I can see, it just makes all the headers female, and moves them slightly.
