CouchDB appliance

I'm hoping to get CouchDB (http://guide.couchdb.org/) running on the Raspberry Pi (if it's not already included as part of Ubuntu) so I can use it as an efficient "Couch appliance". Perhaps pair it with a small USB-powered HDD like http://eshop.macsales.com/item.....U35100GB8/ so I can experiment with using it as an HTTP-only file and data server for my photo library (https://github.com/natevw/ShutterStem).

It's the low power waste I'm most interested in, as I'd also love to host my own always-on "personal cloud" from home with the ability to do geo/sensor collection (https://github.com/natevw/LocLog) experiments while I'm out and about.

Debian has couchdb already. R-pi won't be running Ubuntu.

I was able to install couchdb easily on squeeze but it's an antique, 0.11. Will try to install from source

I was able to build & install couchdb from source on debian squeeze after some dependency hunting. All is well.
